Gentle Thoughts of You
My fingers trace the gentle curve of your thigh. My palm cups your blushing cheek as I draw your moist lips to mine. Has it been a long time, or only yesterday I was held enamored by your beautiful eyes? The time apart seemed long during your absence, but now, it was like a raindrop before my eyes. Here only a moment and then gone. I have missed you more than you can know.
Your lips are so tender, so welcoming against my own. Touching your skin sends my heart leaping. How could one man be so fortunate, so happy in a woman’s arms as I am in yours. Please let me please you, let me kiss you until we are both dizzy with passion. You have touched my life with happiness and tenderness. Please stay always in my embrace sweet lady of my dreams, sweet lady of my heart. If only you were real, someone I could touch, kiss, feel in my arms. I will have to content myself to see you in my dreams until you step out of them into real life. I am waiting for you, please come to me soon.

What would it hurt to fall in love with you?
If I fell in love with you, would you return my love? Would you cherish me as much as I do you? If I fell in love with you, would you kiss me every time we meet or part? Will you run to meet me at the door and pull me ever so near in a powerful and tender embrace?
If I fell in love with you, would you, like me, enjoy hours and hours of touching, tenderly through the night? Would you let me please you not only sexually but also with offerings of gifts and words of love gently shared with you?
If I fell in love with you, would you be as giddy as a teen in love, just like me? Would you honor and respect me as I honor and respect you? If I fell in love with you, would you love me back with all your heart?
I know that if you should leave one day and I was in love with you, it would hurt. But, I would rather spend what time I can with you now than to be apart more than we have to be. Please forgive me for staring at you, as much as I do, I can not seem to help myself. For you see, I think it is too late to say if…….

Preparation for Valentine's Day
Like taking a vacation or dressing for a black tie affair, Valentine’s day requires some preparation. The aisles at Walmart® fairly brim with red heart shaped boxes and dozens of flowers. The card aisle showcases hundreds of flashy cards. Advertisements tempt us to order everything from diamonds to new cars to fulfill our sweetheart’s wishes and dreams. The hype of Valentine’s day lies far from the true preparations you and I must make for this special day. True preparations belong in the two places that mean the most, the heart and life.
Many legends surround the name Valentine. The one I remember the best follows. Valentine, a Christian in the city of Rome delighted in his family, friends and others of faith. The emperor started a persecution of Christians that netted Valentine into prison for his faith. His loneliness for his family and friends grew so heavy in his heart that he devised a plan to send his love to them from prison. He used leaves from plants growing into the prison windows and a small stick to write letters of love by poking small holes in the leaves. He then used doves or pigeons to deliver those love messages to his family and friends. This makes a fanciful story but provides good lessons for us today as we prepare for Valentine’s day.
When the persecution removed all else from him, Valentine found the important things of life. Family, friends, loved ones comprise the most valuable and precious of gifts to us. People and our relationships with them embody the very essence of value in our lives. What good comes from working all those extra hours to find success or to gain money? One day given to loving someone, warming her heart outshines all the business deals, the shiny cars, the lustrous diamonds money can buy.
Whether we love someone now or will in the future, Valentine’s day preparation begins today. Today prepare your heart to give the real you to your loved one. Today prepare your life to cherish each moment of the day with that person as if it were your last moment with them. We each possess two things that when given to our loved one expresses the most precious of gifts. Time, we each possess a limited supply. When we chose to spend those hours and days with that special person, we say ‘I love you’ with our most precious commodity. The person who exists under the masks we wear, given to that loved one says ‘all that I am, all that I will ever be, I give to you my dear friend, the person I love’. What two more precious things could anyone give than your time and yourself? There exist no other gifts so precious and valuable.
The beauty of today beacons me to prepare my heart and life for Valentine’s day. I shall let the sun fall on my face, let the wind ruffle my hair and let myself fill with caring, love and openness for the special ones in my life. Please do not make an excuse my friend. Go and prepare yourself for giving the rest of your life to those special people. True love demands we both give and receive in this exchange of life. As for me, I choose to prepare to give, I choose to prepare to love.
Happy Valentine’s day! Use your time and self wisely.

LinkEmpty life? Fill it with friends!
Have you ever realized how empty your life would be without someone you see or talk to every day in it? As I was working this morning, going through the motions of my daily routine, I realized something important. A dear dear friend of mine will be on vacation in another state for the next several weeks. My realization was that I will miss her and already do miss her very much. Our nearly daily chats have brought some happy moments and warm feelings. There is an empty place in my life that was recently filled with kind words and gentle thoughts from my friend. Hopefully she will return soon, however, the empty place made me realize that those people in our lives who are there everyday or nearly so, brighten up our lives in a profound way.
For a moment, think about those everyday people in your life. The woman at the office or store who chats about everything under the sun, the man at church or synagogue who takes a piece of your time each week, the child, parent or sibling who seems to have nothing better to do than ask questions or chatter away. All of them seem ordinary, maybe even bothersome until you try to live your day without them there. Can you feel the empty spot left when that person is not in their usual place?
Now imagine not a day but a week, month, year, or a lifetime without that person. How might we treat that person differently if we stopped to realize they might not always be there? What kind of thankfulness might we have for the ordinary people in our lives that make each day something special just because they are there?
My meetup group has given me a new perspective on friends in one’s life. Most every evening after work was spent watching TV or walking in the park before I started attending functions with them. During the last function I laughed for nearly three hours straight. This new interaction with the members of my group has also made me realize that a person can never have too many friends. Take a minute today to be thankful for the friends you have in your life. Now, take a lifetime to give of yourself to them. If they should disappear from your life, you will have made happy memories and built a life of no regrets.
Go out today and live!

The Lady and the Unicorn
The Lady and the Unicorn
Once there was a lady who only believed in what she could see and had already experienced. She did not believe in mythical creatures. She liked dreaming of them, thinking of them, even searching for them, but did not ever expect to find one because she knew that they did not exist. Her favorite pastime was to go into the forest and look for unicorns. She knew she would never find one, but pretended that she was really searching for one and it made her happy to spend so much time in pursuit of this fabled creature.
One day while observing wild flowers, she saw a flash of white just beyond a stand of many trees in the midst of the forest. She told herself that it might be a unicorn, and then laughed at the silly thought and decided it must have been an albino deer. On another expedition to the forest searching for the mythical beast, she observed hoof prints. They were far bigger than those made by the horses she had seen, but thought some farmers draft horse must have wandered here on the forest path.
About a month later, in the middle of summer, she was humming a tune to herself while glancing from side to side looking for wild flowers. When she turned a corner on the path, she came face to face with a large white creature standing only a few feet away. She thought to herself that it was a funny place for a horse to be standing and wondered why his rider had dismounted and left his horse standing in the middle of the path. As she stood looking at the creature, her mouth dropped open in surprise. This creature had a single blue horn projecting from his forehead and deep green eyes. He was as white as the clouds sailing overhead on a bright summer day.
The woman shook her head in disbelief. It could not be; how could it? No, she must be dreaming or hallucinating. This could not be a unicorn, for they do not exist. “Go away!” she said. “You can not be real. I do not believe in you.” Then the unicorn answered her saying, “I am real. I have watched you walking through the forest for these many years and discovered you were looking for me. Here I am. Now that you have found me, your quest is at an end, for now you can quit seeking and start getting to know me.” “I cannot get to know you, you do not exist!” she said profoundly. “All my life I have known I was chasing a dream. But I preferred the dream to reality although I kept them separate because everyone knows that unicorns do not exist. If I close my eyes, I am sure you will disappear, because I do not believe in you and you are only a figment of my imagination.”
To this the unicorn replied, “Dear sweet lady, you have indeed been searching for me all your life. Just because you did not believe I existed, was not a sign that I did not. I am here because of your heart cry for knowing a unicorn. You have called me to yourself and I cannot leave now. I have made contact with you, and according to the code of the unicorns, we must be close friends for the rest of our lives.”
The lady was dumbfounded by the unicorn’s words. She had never imagined that she would one day come face to face with her hearts desire because she was sure it was founded on a fable. She had fun thinking about unicorns, dreaming of them too. Where had she gone wrong? What force was compelling her to live what was not real? She denied it, she refused to believe it, and she was totally disgusted with herself for ever imagining that she should search for a unicorn in the first place.
Sweet lady, you have come face to face with a unicorn. Perhaps instead of running from me and denying I exist, you should take time to get to know me. You never know when a unicorn will come along again and if you find you love me, you may find a way to keep me near you after all.
I suppose that if this story had a moral, it would be; be careful what you wish for, what you search for, for it may find you, then what will you do? You might say you do not believe in love, yet, what will you do if you should find it one day?

The Land of Discontent
I wrote the land of discontent some time ago but the advice still rings true. I hope you find it helpful in living the life you were intended to live.
Don
There once was a land where the politicians were so convinced that everyone should share the pain that they passed laws to confiscate money from people who were doing well to give to those who were not. They also declared, in the law of the land, that no one could be happy all the time. This story is about one couple living in that land who were extremely happy most of the time. As you might have guessed, this story has a moral to teach to those for whom it is aimed.
Marisa was married to the man of her dreams, Renaldo. They were extremely happy most of the time. Renaldo gave little presents to Marisa as surprises, brought her flowers often, worked side by side with her on their house and in their garden and was a loving and giving companion for her. He loved her beyond reason and showed it to her every chance he got. Marisa loved Renaldo very deeply and spent much time telling him of her love and doing many kind, loving things for him. She spent herself on him continuously, but it was not a burden to her because of her love for him and because he loved her so much, she did not mind working hard for his happiness. They gave themselves to each other every day and life for them was happy most of the time.
Because of the law that declared that no one could be happy all the time, both of them were forced to spend time with people who made their lives miserable for the time they had to spend with that awful person. Marisa had to spend hours and sometimes days with a hateful man named Desi. Desi made Marisa’s life very miserable by making fun of her, forcing her to do all his work around his house without appreciation, and generally making her afraid of him. Desi actually never laid a finger on her, but his attitude and countenance was such that she became very paranoid in his presence. Desi would sometimes come up and kiss her and put his arms around her in somewhat of a mocking fashion and then later on that day, call her names and make fun of her until her self concept was very low.
Marisa would go home to Renaldo from these forced encounters and just spend hours crying on his shoulder about having to go to Desi’s house at the governments command. Renaldo had a similar situation to go to, but usually never on the same day as Marisa and this added chaos to their otherwise happy lives. After many years of this situation, Renaldo had had all he could stand. He decided to move out of the country, to a neighboring country where freedom to love and be loved continuously was not a crime punishable by being forced into painful relationships. Marisa on the other hand was afraid to move because this country, with all its flaws was all she had known. She tried to get Renaldo to move by himself into the free country next to theirs so he could be happy while she would stay for fear of the unknown. Renaldo declined to move without her for he knew that the reason he was happy at all was because of their love for each other.
What a dilemma this situation was for them. They both desperately wanted to be free to love each other but Marisa could not bring herself to face the unknown, no matter how awful the encounters with Desi were. At least she knew what to expect, and what if Renaldo ever decided he wanted another? This of course was never on Renaldo’s mind as his love for her was overwhelming. He knew his happiest moments were the result of his love for Marisa and her love for him. What were they to do? What would you do if you were Marisa, dear reader? Does fear of the unknown and what might be, tie your hands to decisions you might be making? Are you afraid of hurting even those who appear to dislike you by the decisions you make?
I can not leave the story where it is because I love happy endings. Marisa finally took a deep breath and decided to move with Renaldo to the other country of freedom. The move was difficult and fraught with dangers and threats from the government as well as Desi. Once in the other country, the fear slowly passed for Marisa and she came alive finally with the realization that her dreams of love and passion were finally fulfilled. She and Renaldo, though their lives were far from perfect in this new country, gave themselves to each other and their love took over. Her fears of Renaldo looking for another woman were never realized and later on she looked back on her move as traumatic but one she would do again. Though the government of the other country and Desi harassed them for the first year of their new lives, finally they gained peace and knew they would grow old together, happily in each other loving arms.
The moral is of course, if you are in a situation that seems unbearable yet you are afraid to move for fear of the unknown, take your time and view all possibilities. If you make the decision to move toward happiness, then take steps, one at a time until you are at the place you can move to make your dreams come true. Will these things be easy to accomplish? No, they will be difficult. Will you be happy always if you decide to move? No one can promise happiness always. Just make the decision that will have the greatest chances to bring the longed for happiness your way. Everyone deserves happiness. Not all choose it for the fears in their lives. My wishes and prayers are for you dear reader if this story speaks to you. I pray you will realize that when a white rose is offered you, most likely it is a rose and not a dandelion in disguise. Most of life is made of hard decisions. Most things that are worth having are not gained by standing still but in moving, ever so slowly toward your goal with perseverance in the face of adversity.
Remember that someone loves you! His love shines through all of our situations and circumstances. Be bold, and take the life He gives you in your hands. His hands are on yours, so if you fall in anything, he will surely pick you up and help you on your way. This life He gives is an adventure, so stand up, move and live.

An Ocean of Tears
Lord, if I cry an ocean of tears, will this pain stop?
No my child. The pain and your tears will become bitterness in your spirit. Give your tears to me instead and I will use them to cleanse the pain away as you might wash the dirt from your body.
I don't know if I can give my tears and pain to you. I have lived with them so long, I might feel naked and alone without them. They have been my companions all these years. I am afraid to be free for then I will be empty. Emptiness is worse than the pain, for at least the pain is something.
Dear child, You will be empty, but it will only last a moment. You see, this pain and hurt is keeping me from filling you with hope and feelings of my love for you. While you are so filled I can not pour my love, gentleness and peace into your spirit. Your heart has longed for peace. Please open up and yield your pain and hurt to me though your tears and you will feel my love decend upon you in a way it has never been allowed to before. Whatever abuse you have suffered, whatever pain you feel, whatever hurt that gnaws at your soul can wash away in your tears if you give them to me.
I want to give you my hurts and fears. Please help me to pour out my soul to you as a drink offering. My greatest desire is to be whole though I am afraid to let go. But for you Lord, I will release my pain and anguish. I am weary of bearing it and know you will not leave me alone. Lord, in You alone do I trust my deep inner longings and fears. Help me Lord to let go and let you...........

Sweet dreamtime lady
Sweet dream time lady
I close my eyes and you are there. I see your beautiful face looking back at me. Each day seems to drag by until it is time to go to sleep and I can see you again. Thank you for holding my hand on our long walks. I love spending hours in your arms. Each day seems like an eternity and each night passes in only seconds.
Our time last night was wonderful. How I loved being in your arms under that waterfall. I could have stayed forever. Your kisses stoke my passion for you. Touching you fills my heart and mind with desire for you, sweet woman of my dreams.
If I could but wake with you still by my side, but alas, when dawn breaks, you are gone. Holding you fills me with awe at how blessed I am to meet you every night. Though you are just in my dreams, one day I hope to find a way to pull you out of my sleeping moments and into reality. When I do finally get you in my waking arms, I won’t ever let you go.
Come to me tonight and touch me. Arouse my longing for you with your tender kisses. Fill my arms with your presence and stay with me until the morning light. How I long to make you mine. You are my sweet dream lady.
