Where did all the stars go tonight?

Where did all the stars go tonight?
A lone redwing blackbird wings its flight over a field of prairie grass. A single clover sticks its lonely head up in the middle of a field. As the sun throws its final rays up over the horizon, I walk alone along a railroad track. Where are all the stars tonight?
When I was in the viper’s nest, getting stung daily by wicked fangs, the stars sang to me of the love awaiting me. Where are you my love? Have you not recognized me yet? Why do you wait to claim me and make me your own? In this life we do have loneliness and pain. We do recognize that love is out there, but at times it seems to be hiding. Love forces us to seek it, by tempting us, sending us message through the stars and moon. Love gets us excited to experience more of life.
I have hope for the future. I have an earnest longing to be in the arms of my sweetheart. I long to lie at your breast like a suckling child, looking up at all the goodness that is you. I want to scoop you up and take you away to a place where only time can touch us. Do I need to shoot off fireworks so you can find me, so you can recognize you love me too and should be with me?
Now I know where the stars have gone tonight. They await the moment you and I find each other to shine their brightest. They hide from my loneliness, knowing that at some point, you will realize that it is me you love and come to my arms to stay. They fill their time waiting for the day when a love bursts into flame between the two of us. Where are you my dear sweet lady?
Your love is waiting for you. Come and find me and share this happiness ever more. My love, I am waiting for you.
